Powerful stuff in this weeks show. Two bands with driving rhythms and hypnotic beats. 

I'm going to start off with a power trio out of Rochester, New York: King Buffalo. They have a smattering of full length LPs and some EPs, each one building on the previous. They have toured with legendary bands such as Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, All Them Witches, The Sword, Clutch and Elder. If you know what those bands sound like, then you have a good idea of what you're in for here. Buckle up.

Our headliners tonight are a band that I saw back up Roky Erickson at The Chapel in 2008. I loved what they brought to his music and have been following them peripherally up until recently when I took a deeper dive. And I'm happy I did.

The Black Angels out of Austin, Texas truly are connoisseurs of the Texas Psych sound. I can't help but get lost in what I'm hearing. I'm particularly excited about their first release, "Passover". And their most recent "Wilderness of Mirrors" has made me stop what I'm doing to listen more closely. I'm excited to see them at The Chapel on September 6th.

For tonight's show I chose Art Rock Festival, Saint-Brieuc, France on June 4, 2017. This is during the Death Song tour.
