A Season in Hell #188: Get Down Here!

Down in Front brought their amazingness (yes, that's a word) into the studio tonight. It was a mutual admiration society show tonight. I can assure you that we kept it clean-ish. They do spank me near the end of the interview though. I earned it, I can tell you that. Their stories are great, and their music is fresh and fun. You really do need to see them live though, to fully appreciate them in their full story-telling glory.

They're playing at Hotel Utah on Tuesday night, for their CD release party. Come on down. I'll be there. It's going to be a great show!

Second hour is mostly new music, and very guitar-driven. I'm sure you'll enjoying rockin' out as much as I did. I gave tickets away to see the Ferocious Few. Too late for you though. I give tickets away most weeks. Tune in and win!

Enjoy.

A Season in Hell #172: It's a Radioman's World

I said it once, I've said it 7000 times, I have a very large. And there're some days when I just sort of feel like playing a whole bunch of different stuff on the show. Some weeks it's jazz, so weeks it's blues, some weeks it hard rock and metal, But tonight it's just sort of all over the place. So forgive me for not seeming to have any type of focus tonight, but I think you'll agree with me by the end of this two-hour piece of artwork that yes, yes indeed, this truly is a delectable piece of art.

A Season in Hell #166: DOWN IN FRONT!!!

I love hosting local live bands in the studio. They're just so darn eager and flattering. On tonight's show, Julie and Japa of Down in Front are on to talk up their Tahoe Corridor Tour, and their new LP/CD The Donut Shop. I love these two so much, for so many reasons, not the least of which is their musical acumen. But really, their witty repartee is worth the price of admission.

Their raising funds to record their first full-length: Down in Front does the Donut Shop. Check out their Kickstarter page, and please consider throwing them some dough. HA, I said it!

A Season in Hell #125: DOWN IN FRONT!

The new Radio Valencia studios are built for speed. And when I say speed I mean bands performing live. Tonight I've got local Folksters: Down in Front, featuring Japa and Julie coming down. They're playing some fine, original folk for you. They are beautiful and hilarious in so many ways. It's the witty banter between the tunes that keeps me coming back for more.

New music and some sweet live boots in the second hour.

If you're listening to radio and it's NOT Radio Valencia you may wish to go get your head examined.
