Nothing special tonight, just truly amazing music that you must hear and share and devour with ever sense of your being!

That being said, there's a mix of some truly old and some brand-spankin'-new! This was one of those nights when I have a lot of new music I'm just dying to share with all of you, but there are some ear worms from days gone by that I just need to get out.

New music from LA Witch, Death Valley Girls, and Altin Gun. There's some classic James Brown, Led Zeppelin (and the song they initially ripped off from Memphis Minnie), some Beastie Boys (and a couple originals they "borrowed" their samples from.

As always, there's something here for practically everyone. Take a look at the playlist below, click on the link above and enjoy.

This coming Monday night I'm excited to interview community radio founder and filmmaker Sue Carpenter, whose new documentary 40 Watts from Nowhere, about her low watt LA community radio station KBLT is showing at the SF Documentary Film Festival, which Radio Valencia is co-presenting.

Tune in and go see that show!

Enjoy and please share.

Hell's Kitchen Radio #506: Let Them Eat Tweets

I left Twitter a few years ago. It always upset me to scroll through it. I held onto the account so I could share my radio blog on there, tagging the artists I play. I never missed it, and I never thought I would. When Musk took it over I deleted my account. I don't need to share my data with that guy. It appears Twitter drives people to this page. I've gone from ~150 per post to ~10. ugh. I do not want to back to Twitter.

Well I guess you lucky few get to enjoy all this music just for yourselves. Who am I to keep you from sharing it on your own social media platforms?

Just look at what you get: a tribute to Tom Verlaine, some 70s Punk, 60s Blues and Jazz, new John Cale, Molly Tuttle, Ty Segall, Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder. I also have some demos and outtakes from The Who and Funkadelic. I'm all over the damn place.

Let Twitter keep the creep. You have me and I have you, and that's all that counts.

Enjoy and please share.

Hell's Kitchen Radio #503: Back to Business

You know I start this show out talking about why I do what I do. This is all about taking two hours and paining an aural picture for your mind. Spotify can't do that. Commercial radio stations won't do that. They can't risk losing their sponsors. Spotify has no soul. Commercial radio exists to steal your soul and your time. And how insulting are they?

Want to play "What's on the Bone"? I bet you guessed right. I don't want you to ever be able to guess what I'm going to play on my show. Yes, there are a handful of artists who I have been known to play more often than others. Just scroll to the bottom of this page and you can see for yourself. But I mean, c'mon, look at who those artists are? Melvins over 100 times! The top ten don't get so much airplay anywhere else. OK, maybe the Grateful Dead?

I was all over the place on this show. Experimental, garage-punk, Americana, Bluegrass, free-Jazz, Soul-Jazz, both American and British Punk, a tribute to Jeff Beck, British Rock, Greek Psych-Groove, Neo-Psych and Gospel. I ask you, where else are you going to hear this? Radio Valencia needs to be bookmarked on your browser and you must get the app!

I can't wait until next week.

Enjoy and please share.
