We're half way through the year, so how about we check in with the great music we've heard so far in 2015? Tonight's show is all about new releases, and a few re-issues that caught my eye. Check out the amazing Hawkwind cut in the second hour. New music from LA bands Wand, Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall, as well as some sizzling tracks from Bay Area groups Rin Tin Tiger, Tiger Honey Pot and Queen Crescent.

If you like what you hear, then go out and support these bands by purchasing their vinyl or MP3s. And for Christ's sake, go see them live!!!

And continuing with my celebration of the 50th birthday of the good ol' Grateful Dead, there's a sweet treat at the end of the show for you. Check out the playlist below, and please share with your music-loving friends.

Enjoy.

More of what you have come to expect in Hell's Kitchen tonight. many genres, and you get to hear me call George Bush an asshole. Which Bush? Does it really matter?

I got on a real funky/soul/jazz kick in the first hour. The second hour starts off with a kick ass Terrapin Station from 1977, leading into a live Zappa track I found to be quite appropriate.

New music from Nudity, Father John Misty, Mikal Cronin, and Moon Duo round out the show, along with a lovely little ditty from Pres 43.

I viewed "Montage of Heck" on Sunday night, and I was more impressed than I thought I would be. Not to be a spoiler, but I'm pleased that they didn't go close to investigating why he died. If you're a fan of Nirvana, check out the film. The animation of his journals is well worth the viewing.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. I actually despise Hallmark Holidays, and this one has a colorful history all its own. But if it makes you happy to have a day all to yourself, then good on ya! I would think most mothers would want a day away from their kids on this day. You know: "give me a break!".

Enjoy.

Hell's Kitchen #219: I Feel Naked

Some nights I'm not super inspired when I walk into the studio. That doesn't mean I don't want to be on the air. Au contraire, there's nothing I love more. It's more like, I have a ton of music and I'm not certain exactly what I'm going to play and when I'm going to play it. It's a first world problem.

Yesterday was James Brown's birthday, so it was apropos that I threw on some live JB in there. Also it was the third anniversary of the passing of Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys. I cannot believe that it's been three years already. Really, that's just crazy.

There's some new music from Koes Barat, King Tuff, Mikal Cronin, Nudity, White Hills, and Queen Crescent. I do love me some new music. You're going to love it too.

It didn't take long into my first thirty minutes to find my groove. That's the thing about music, once it grabs you, you never want it to let you go.

See you on the radio.

Enjoy.
