A Season in Hell #88: Do the "Duck" Walk

What is it lately with all these great artists dying? First MCA, now Donald "Duck" Dunn, the great bassist of Booker T and the MGs, and the Blues Brother's Band. Growing up I loved his look, with the pipe hanging down as he pawed at that Fender bass, while he stood there still and cool. What a look. He's that groove of the Memphis soul sound. He will be missed.

In the first hour I supply some new and new-to-you sounds that you're sure to enjoy. I also feature a tribute to Duck Dunn by way of some live Blues Brother's from the closing of Winterland, 12-31-78, and some live Booker T and the MGs, also from SF in 1991.

The second our is all DEAD! Week six of eight of my Grateful Dead Europe 72 celebration. Tonight it was really hard to decide what to play. I've selected some first set charmers from May 10th, and an Other One jam from the same night. I've also "settled" upon a great Morning Dew from the next night, May 11th. I was going to go with the Dark Star from that night, but I had no time to do both the Other One and Dark Star. You'll just have to settle with that.

At the very end of the show you can hear me get all excited from watching Buster Posey hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th to take a 2-1 lead over Colorado. Ha!!!
